Fifth Annual Sprouts Awards Nominees
A well written cookbook "cooks with words." It draws in readers with cleverly simmered words. Flavours and fragrance are liberally sprinkled to evoke emotion that tantalizes the appetite and inspires one to cook.
This year's Sprouts Cookbook Award nominees exhibit excellence in food writing: engaging yet concise, with recipes that are accessible and approachable yet innovative and inspiring. They all share the common appeal of being well-crafted general cookbooks. Cookbooks that boast recipes fit for entertaining the most discerning palates while offering recipes to quickly soothe weeknight, work-weary souls.
We present the nominees for the 2010 Sprouts Cookbook Award:
Radically Simple by Rozanne Gold
Ottolenghi by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi
Heart of the Artichoke by David Tanis
The Wild Table by Connie Green
In the Kitchen with a Good Appetite by Melissa Clark
Nominees were chosen from books published in 2010 by the ten staff at Barbara-Jo's Books to Cooks. The books will be judged by a panel of three external judges. The winner of this year's much coveted sterling silver Brussels Sprout Award will be announced and awarded at a gala black-tie evening on March 24, 2011.
