It is always pleasing to have an author saunter into the shop for a chat and restorative cuppa, especially when they have a new book to share with us. A few years ago, we hosted a lively event with Charles - Downton Abbey style - to celebrate his first publication; "The Butler Speaks". Now, Charles has published "The Pocket Butler" A Compact Guide to Modern Manners, Business Etiquette and Everyday Entertaining. This little book is both delightful and informative. I love this quote in the introduction: "Luxury can be had by anyone at anytime, and given to anyone at anytime, because its about making someone feel welcomed, cherished and looked after."

This Autumn, we will be hosting another event with Charles, stay tuned for details. The event promises to be memorable, and we promise not to ask you to bring your own fork and spoon! (a reference from page 68 of "The Pocket Butler").
