This Week at Books To Cooks...

Barbara-jo's Book Club Eating Between The Leaves started this week. The club members met at the shop and each received a pretty package, complete with the five Paris inspired books at the center of the upcoming conversations. They enjoyed their first meal with us, carefully prepared by our resident chef. Our Fall 2011 Eating Between The Leaves Book Club is sold out but keep in touch, our next season looks just as promising.

We have been baking this week as well. Julie-Anne made a batch of delightful maple pecan cookies from the cookbook 101 Desserts to Eat Before You Die. Perfect for Fall, they filled the shop with an amazing nutty smell and they were all eaten in less than a day. 100 recipes to go...stay tuned.
Mark has been flipping through the fabulous Tartine Bakery cookbook from the famous San Francisco shop and made delicious buttermilk scones for everyone to try. They were very well received and the book was sold as soon as the first scone was offered! No need to worry, we have plenty more. Stop by the store for a visit, perhaps we will request that he make another batch...

Have a great week.
