Autumn Brings Golden Moments

Autumn brings golden moments to Barbara-Jo's Books to Cooks. We begin the Autumn season with some delicious September events.

On Sunday, September 18 at 5:00 p.m. we host the September Sunday Supper of our year long series featuring A Year in My Kitchen by Skye Gyngell. Chef Glenys Morgan demonstrates a delicious harvest menu incorporating culinary concepts and Skye's toolbox to add flavour and creativity to cooking all year long. Single seats to this dinner are available for $85.00.

For the Love of Food by UK author Denis Cotter is an essential cookbook for vegetarians but also appeals to non-vegetarians who enjoy flavour-packed food and innovative combinations. On Tuesday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m. Chef Lawren Moneta demonstrates an inspiring menu of intriguing and original recipes from this delightfully written and photographed collection of recipes. The cost of this event is $105.00.

On Thursday, September 22 at 6:00 p.m., join us for an evening of Chopin with musical guest host, June Goldsmith. As June discusses the life and music of Chopin, guests will enjoy refreshments and will take home a copy of Chopin in Paris: The Life and Times of the Romantic Composer by Tad Szulc. Tickets for this musical evening are $35.00.

Pop by on Saturday, September 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for our first Pop Up Market of the season featuring Erin Ireland's It's To Die For Banana Bread. Drop in for a morsel and fall in love with what could be the best banana bread in town.
